I've been working with the fine folks at Visionary Comics, who have the comics and prose fiction license for the popular horror/western/steampunk RPG Deadlands, to line up a publishing deal for some Deadlands novels. I'm glad to say that they were able to announce the deal at this weekend's GenCon--we've sold three novels to Tor Books. I'm writing one, Jonathan Maberry is writing one, and Tor's in negotiations with a third author who'll be a great addition to the line. With luck, these will do really well and we'll be able to do more books. Details of the deal are here: |

Tony, Deadlands is a great alt-history Old West setting, with all kinds of monsters and creepy, scary stuff. It came out around the same time as my horror/western comic Desperadoes debuted, so we've sort of grown up together in the weird western world. |

I LOVE Deadlands... I ran a long time campaign and way back in the early years I used to hang out with the PEG guys at Gencon and such, I have a bunch of things signed by Shane and the rest of the crew... I am totally jealous I always wanted to write for gaming... D&D and Deadlands being my two favorites... Good luck with this... Maberry posted about this a month back I think... I remember seeing it while I was at NECON... |
