I haven't read the book yet (it's slowly working its way up the tbr pile), so I went in with no preconceptions. It isn't 'high art' like Hannibal, but I didn't find it particularly dumbed down, either. Lots going on, some reasonable tension. I'll give it another few episodes and see how some of the characters develop.

I'm remembering how much I frigging HATED Big Jim and Junior. I want to keep up with the series, but the novel was just so frustrating for me seeing those characters, and knowing there really are people like that in the world who think it's ok to act like that in normal society. Then again, that should just say something about King's abilities that, what, 5 years later, I still wish those characters had been on the line when the dome came down? |

Are they as hateable as that crazy woman in the supermarket in The Mist? I must admit, some of King's 'nastier' characters really are nasty. |

The movie or the novella? Cuz I have a hard time hating Marcia Gay Harden, no matter how crazy her character is. But, yes, they are truly despicable characters. |

The one in the movie made me actually honestly feel like I could kill someone. It was disconcerting. I enjoyed the first show. I am not a fan of knife man at all. LOVED the cow lol. |
