It began with prompting from Isaac Asimov and ended with what I consider to be my signature work of psychological horror. |

It always made me mad that I didn't write the entire novel back then, but with two kids and a 12 hour a day job, I couldn't pull it off. Computers have made things much easier. I was always a two finger typist, and back then I bought White Out by the cart full. Nothing was more frustrating than to have a perfect page and right near the end make a mistake that White Out couldn't fix or to have so many flubs you punched a hole in the paper. And when you got to the editing part, the entire thing had to be typed again. A lot of editors back then wouldn't read anything with White Out and some wouldn't read anything by a writer lacking a college degree. That could make everything seem a lot tougher. |
