I'm not a fan of Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse book series and I am not a fan of HBO's adaptation of the series, "True Blood", but I DO support the author's right to do what they damn well want with creating a proper end to their creation: readers who act like this are asshats. I've always thought the 'idea' of readers becoming invested in your characters, discussing them on messageboards, writing fanfic etc was pretty cool. It's a sign you're telling a good story (and it's an ego trip, too, I suppose). But in practice? Wow... I know a lot of it is keyboard warrior, internet yap and can be easily dismissed. But those hysterical 'lets go round to her house' people? Someone needs to take a chill pill and fuck the hell off.
