Better than Iron Man 2, although I thought it wobbled a bit on occasion, especially in scenes that should have inspired pathos, when instead we got a barrage of snappy one-liners. (Don't think pathos belongs in stupid comic book stuff? Go re-read your Spidermans and Batmans.) Love Shane Black, love RDJ, they got it completely right in Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, but here - they're a bit like a runaway train. However! I thought Paltrow was amazing, and Ben Kingsley - awesome. It got a little Transformer-ish toward the end, but that seems to be the way things are, these days. It also gets 7 wriggly things instead of 6 and a half, for the always-wicked and fabulous Guy Pearce. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Also, link below is an article on Shane Black's scriptwriting. Scripts read better than the damned movies: |

I don't expect much from my comic book movies, so I'm going to give this nine for the simple fact I don't like Gwyneth Paltrow. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I am stunned that this was actually in an Avengers comic. http://www.ugo.com/the-goods/ant-man-the-wasp |

That looks like something from the Ultimates, which is the Avengers of that line of Marvel. If so, it was probably written by Mark Millar, who feels the need to include stuff like this. |

Nope, it's actually an Avengers comic written by Geoff Johns. |

I remember reading that, but I can't remember the issue. It was hilarious, though. And as for Iron Man 3, I thought it was much better than the second one, but that's not saying much; I wasn't so impressed with 2. |

I've never been a fan of Gwyneth Paltrow either, but I have to admit that I do like her a lot in the Iron Man movies. And I'd seen the trailers with the destruction of Tony's house and them flying through the air, but I didn't expect what the suit did during that scene---I loved it! (How's that for keeping it spoiler-free?) Overall, I liked Iron Man 3 a lot. It was much, much better than 2, and even though there were plot holes galore, I still enjoyed the ride tremendously. And that same comment applies to Stark Trek Into Darkness, too. Hunter |
