So. What did everyone else think? I thought Hugh Dancy's character was twitchy as fuck and is going to take some getting used to. |

Thursday nights, 10PM, NBC. I'm hoping they'll do what Fox is doing with The Following - airing it twice a week - that way I've a chance of keeping up. |

I really liked it, but I missed several of Lector's lines; that accent is killing me. |

Mushrooms!!!!! I've never liked them. There's something kinky and weird about how they feel, and how they pop up out of the ground, and now... ![]() ![]() |

The mushroom scene WAS really cool - but I still went to bed. I really lost patience with those freaky camera-shots - particularly the ones that were supposed to show how the character's mind saw a crime scene. I walked backwards, up to bed. Don't think I'm going to bother following this one. Same as BATES MOTEL - I just can't get past the whole - "Wait a minute. I've already seen this done a WHOLE lot better with Anthony Hopkins - or Brian Cox - or Anthony Perkins... |

Caught this week's episode online (hope I can continue to do this), and WOW - I liked. Very broody and full of quiet menace. Mind you, I suspect Mikkelson is the reason I'll always say I liked Clash of the Titans when everyone else is like - "oh god.... ~head in hands~" |

Forget the mushrooms. Those wings... There's some twisted set design going on in this show. From the wings to Lechter's suits. |

The scariest thing for me this last week - Will re-enacting the prison hospital murder - switching from his usual empathic nature, to a mode where he looked as if he was actually enjoying it. Kudos to Dancy for that. Eddie Izzard was utterly meh in comparison. |

I'm finally--almost--caught up. Just have last week's episode to watch. I had a block of time last night after work, so I sat down and watched 3 or 4 episodes in a row. I'm really liking this show a lot more now and will definitely be keeping up with it. |

I'm not saying it would have been great--he's too over the top, especially for that role--but I'd love to see it. |

from imdb: "Bryan Fuller was so impressed with his audition, he told a magazine that even though he didn't get the role, he wanted to write Tennant a guest role as a deranged serial killer." I am morbidly curious indeed. And he's easier to understad than Mikkelsen. |

This was the first time in a VERY long time that I was impressed by a weekly dramatic television program with horror/thriller overtones... I thought this series was brilliant, from the editing to the cinematography to the script to the acting -- very strong on ALL counts. Not a lot of unnecessary plot red herrings, very little unrealistic boy-girl soap-opera romance stuff, no insipid badly-written attempts at B-cinema humor and lastly, Thank Thee Lawdy Jayzus, NO CAMPINESS!!! I absolutely abhor camp in crime dramas and in horror-suspense thrillers. This series was actually intelligently done. I really look forward to more, but ONLY if they can keep the quality this high. |

I'm with Grymmscape. The show has definitely grown on me. I rewatched the final three episodes. The show has this 70's vibe going on - from Hannibal's clothing to the set designs. Also the minimal use of cellphones really gives it that look and feel. I'm looking forward to season 2. |

I also agree with Nanci and Grymmscape. I can't wait to see what they do next. I was also disappointed in Bates Motel. I won't be going back for that one. |

I'll keep watching Bates Motel, but it's not the must-see that Hannibal is. |
