G'day guys Would any of you be interested in donating one of your beautiful books (or something else) to the AHWA benefit/fundraiser for Aussie author Rocky Wood? Rocky was recently diagnosed with ALS (aka Lou Gehrig's Disease) The money raised at this event (hopefully at least $20,000) will go towards a device that will allow eye based communication for Rocky as his disease progresses. Donations so far include a mixture of books/dvds/illustrations/editing services from Stephen King, Cemetery Dance Publications, Johnathon Schaech, Tim Lebbon, Gary McMahon, Michael Marshall Smith, Jeffrey Thomas, Rocky Wood, Geoff Brown, Bev Vincent, Kealan Patrick Burke and Greg Chapman - Just to name a few..... ![]() So please be generous and consider donating something special to this auction You can contact me at wandaful@johnathonschaech.net for more details Thanks guys Love Wendy xoxo |

Hey everyone The AHWA has most AMAZING books up for auction - and more coming in every day But NOW we need to get some bidders So PLEASE dig deep everyone - There's no point having all these wonderful books if no one will buy them You can remote bid anytime between now and the auction If anyone has a problem understanding the bidding system, please let me know - however it's pretty self explanatory Cheers Wendy And thank you Nanci and Horror World for your incredibly generous donation XOXOXOOXOXOXO |

I have a question. Are those donating shipping the books to Australia, or are they shipping them from their homes? I live in the U.S. and see that many of these books are being donated from people in the U.S., and the shipping would be A LOT less if it was shipped to the winner if both were in the U.S. Thanks, and I will try to bid on an item and if I cannot or do not win, I will make a donation. And one last thing...no paypal? Thanks again Wendy. Tony |

G'day back at you Wendy! The only other thing I would ask is if it could be posted on the site from which country the items are going to ship from. I see some things I would like to bid on, but the last time ordered a book from your fair country it cost me $25.00 in shipping. I'd like to bid on something that will ship from the U.S. if possible. Thanks! p.s. do you say G'day when meeting and leaving also? |

Gracie Hart: In Hawaii, don't they use aloha for, like, hello and goodbye? Miss Hawaii: So? Gracie Hart: So if you're on the phone with somebody and they won't stop talking, how do you get them? You say, 'Okay take care, aloha' don't they just start over again? So, you're saying g'day is better than aloha ![]() |

Onya? I think I knew a girl called Onya once, but maybe I'm mistaking her with Uma...oh well. I wasn't sure if I was allowed to bid early. Rereading it, I think I was able to do so. Believe it or not Wendy, not all of us are as slow as I am in the States. My VCR still blinks. |

Why yes I did. But I might have screwed that up too though. I got a reply that said I had won the dingo. Not sure what that is, but it can't be good. |

SO SORRY for taking so long to get back to you all The auction went really well although there are plenty of items still available http://www.australianhorror.com/index.php?view=289 This from Rocky: I was just advised that over $7900 was raised on Saturday at the joint AAA/AHWA Halloween function to raise funds to help buy an Eye-Gaze Device, which will allow me to communicate as my MND/ALS progresses. There are still some auction items available (more on that later). This is a big dent in the $25,000 target and takes the Fund to about $18,000 - how wonderful! Of course my family and I are humbled by the amount raised and by the work everyone put in. The Australian American Association, the Australian Horror Writers Association, Erin Muscat , Geoff Brown , Wandaful Wendy , the volunteers who helped, the donors of goods and monies, and those who bid on the auction items all personify what I mentioned on the night - the wondrous community that AAA and Horror both represent - the best of the human condition. Jazminsdaddy - Let me know what you bid on and I will confirm that for you mate Cheers and much love and musk sticks Wendy xoxo |
