Six months ago I was bemoaning the fact that I didn't know why I was writing, couldn't see a future in it, self-pitying blah blah blah.
Well I'm glad I got that phase out of my system, because almost immediately after writing that blog entry, I started work on a new Midnight Eye Novel.
Since then I've been on a roll.
The 3rd Midnight Eye Novel, The Skin Game is with Black Death Books for consideration and has Derek Adams chasing a werewolf cult through Glasgow and Newfoundland.
A thriller with supernatural overtones, The Twelve Concordances of the Red Serpent is a chase novel set against modern drug companies and 14th Century Alchemy. A blonde in trouble, a stranger who knows more than he should and a romp through Scottish history. It's being queried around various agents at the moment, so keep everything crossed for me.
A pulp heroic fantasy novel, We Are Viking sets Vikings agains Yeti in northern Russia. Mayhem and bloodshed, heroic death and slaughter. I love it. Just finished and passed it on to my wife who'll give it a thorough going over for continuity/sense and general "is it any good?" checking. I'll be sending it to Ghostwriter Publications in the next week or so.
I also wrote a short story that's been picked up by a major pro anthology in hardcover for 2010.
Coupled with that there's been a flurry of publishing activity.
The Watchers trade paperback omnibus will be out in April from Black Death Books, with a limited edition hardcover to follow next winter.
Ghostwriter Publications will publish Island Life in hardcover in April, with the simultaneous release of an audio book.
I have a story in the Creature Feature antho coming in June from Ghostwriter Publications alongside some great writers.
I have an audio anthology also lined up for some time later in the year from Ghostwriter Publications
I have a story coming in July in Permuted Press' Cthulhu Unbound 2 Anthology.
Maybe I should moan more often
