I'm glad I printed off all four of the Timmy Quinn books last night, because I read this tonight and MUST get to the others pronto. In fact, why am I even here typing on a message board??? I thought you did a great job introducing us to Timmy, and the moral dilemmas he has going for him from this point on. And his "relationship" with Kim had me chuckling - ahh, we've all been there, haven't we? The pacing was great all the way through the climax, and the last line of the story left me going "What?!?!" I'm curious if The Hides will give us a glimpse into that final encounter, since it begins (I believe) five years later than The Turtle Boy. And if I may ask, how is work on Nemesis going? Hi Craig: Great to see that you dug THE TURTLE BOY. No matter what I've written since, it seems to persist as a favorite among readers, though I have to admit that VESSELS is my personal favorite of the bunch. If I remember correctly, the final encounter at the end of THE TURTLE BOY is mentioned in THE HIDES. It's little more than a sidenote, but it does explain things. I didn't want to spend too much time on it, or it might have made THE HIDES less of a standalone book (i.e. the reader would have been wondering what the hell I was talking about.) Hopefully though, it's does its job. NEMESIS is about a quarter-written. I hope to have it finished by the end of this year, if not sooner... Kealan |
