Hey Gene, mind if we pull up a chair, grab a root beer, and stare out at the Cal Wild? ![]() |

Nanci: You have a long memory. I gave that tee shirt to the twelve-year old boy with Gord and his brother. That *boy* is now a fighter pilot with the RCAF. Mr. Crow and Mr. Zuma: I'd love to have a root beer with both of you and talk books some day. Gene |

Tony & others: The Green Hornet and Cato cycle, which includes the two novels, SHADOW OF THE DARK ANGEL & DEATHFLASH, and novella, DOUBLEJACK, are not related to the comic book characters in any way. Katy Green and Johnny Cato are called by the press the Green Hornet and Cato because of the similarity of their names. If I had to pin all the three books, I'd call them dark fantasy thriller/mysteries, except DOUBLEJACK is probably a straight thriller. The structure of DJ is similar in vein to the renown Japanese movie, Roshomon, which is told from various viewpoints. DJ has parts told from victim viewpoints, which is pretty scary in a rape/murder (also perhaps considered politically incorrect to those who don't completely read the novella). I don't pull any punches here. Rough stuff happens on stage. Having given this caveat, DJ may be one of my better novellas--plot/story-wise. We'll see. Gene |
