Dead Sea is great. One of the best I've ever read. Saks was a brilliantly written character in particular, I thought. I loved the way he wasn't just portrayed as the bad guy. You got to see inside his head at times and understand his thinking. He was also shown to be not all bad, even coming close to changing his ways at times. It's not many horror writers who could pull that off and I like it all the more because I don't think that real people are black and white in character. I also loved how things were set up between characters but didn't always play out as expected. Again, more true to life. A tremendous achievement, is Dead Sea. I might have preferred the very end outcome to be different but that's just me. |
