This excellent collection is now up for pre-order for a July '11 release! ![]() BONE MARROW STEW Collected Works Volume One by Tim Curran Come closer. Together, we’ll climb this crooked stairway and slip through the crooked doorway at the top, enter a crooked room. We’ll leave the crawling black gutter ruin of the world behind us. Here, there is a glow beneath the blackened cauldron and here we may sup and chat, away from those maggot-white oblong faces that press up to the shuttered windows. I want to whisper something in your ear here in our little world lit only by fire and scented by hot marrow-fat and steaming gut. Ignore the creeping shadows and nightmare cosmic vistas opening up around us, they are but tales wanting to be told. Hear only my voice: Many, many years ago when I was seven or eight years old I made something of an unconsciousness decision to dwell in the shadows of a half-lit world and there I have existed, happily, ever since. Before then I don’t think I had any true obsessions. I was sort of like a glob of unshaped clay waiting to be molded and pressed into something. Once the change had occurred and the cold clay was formed, the pulp of fear juiced from me, I no longer feared the shades that crept in the darkness or the spidery things that scuttled over moonlit rooftops or the shapeless horrors that oozed in the sunless, sewerlike spaces of dank cellars. I became one of them, you see. I lived in weed-clotted drainage ditches and hung bloated in dusty webs in high attic corners and swam in miasmic ponds. I met little girls who fed on souls and puppeteers who were more puppet than man. I crouched in night-black trenches while ghoulish things chattered their teeth and I sailed tall ships into graveyard seas. I met men with kaleidoscopic eyes and listened to the ravings of snakeoil salesmen as they vomited flies. I was there when the living dead swarmed the Paris Metro and grotesque little men crawled from the fens for their midnight offerings. I listened to the screams of innocents lost in the fog and the sucking sounds of men reduced to things less than men and, yes, I watched as eldritch, obscene things seduced children with promises of sweets. Fill yourself with the marrow and gut and blood of the stew as I lean closer and whisper into your ear of what I know and what I have seen and what, I think, you may never forget. A delicious 460+ page release spanning Tim’s career from his very first professional sale, Reign of the Eater, to exclusive never before released stories, plus a full bowl of juicy tales in between. Full wraparound artwork and extensive internal illustrations from Keith Minnion and introduced by Simon Clark, this collection is signed by all three contributors. The moment I started reading the stories in this collection I just wanted to shout ‘WOW!’ Tim Curran’s work erupts so powerfully from the page. His vivid action zaps you in the eye. Then his words continue into the depths of your soul where they sow explosions of delight and wonder. - Taken from Simon Clark’s intro, Welcome to the Feast. Limited to 250 signed and numbered copies - $40.00 To secure your copy send a blank email directly to Tasmaniac: tasmaniacpublications@gmail.com In the subject line print BMS - country of residence (Example: BMS - USA) and we'll reply back with your secured number, and an invoice to follow. |

Have you tried the gold label? I got a bottle last Christmas in a special J.W. gift 5 pack. I am more partial to single malt scotches however. This is my favorite, but it may be a bit too peaty for your taste. http://laphroaig.com/ I do enjoy blended scotches and to tell you the truth, it's what I can afford to drink most of the time. I do like JW Black. Heck, I'll even drink the Red! Nice to know you are a fellow scotch drinker. |

I can't wait to "smell the smells"! It seems like I've read more than a few reviews on this already. Don't ask me where as I can't remember now, but I've seen at least a few others. No problem on getting this one early! |

Sorry guys, I spoke too soon and jinxed it. Due to zero protective packaging from printer the dust jackets have received heavy creasing along edges. These will have to be replaced. Anyone got a length of rope I can borrow? ![]() ![]() Steve. |

And what about us Australians? Local publisher and US folks get their copies first...grumble grumble ![]() On a side note, did I tell you how great WHC was? And how great a person Simon Clark is (that's not so off topic, after all, he introduces BMS)? Happy to share more via e-mail if you want to hear - and include the photo of me and Mr Clark? ![]() |

WOW - this huge book looks GREAT. In addition to a fun DJ (that, as usual, looks better "in person"), the book cover has an art design and inside, cool endpapers and interior art that enhances Tim's storytelling. I know I'll be flipping to the back of the book after reading each story to devour Tim's story notes. It's amazing that even with the DJ problem the book was released two months ahead of schedule. CONGRATS to Steve, Tim and everyone involved for publishing a fantastic, beautifully designed, high-quality package. ![]() Jan |
