Actress Kirsty Hill is sexing up “Director’s Cut”, a new comedy-horror film from director Adam Rifkin and Penn Jillette (Penn & Teller), with a starring turn as Summer in the film’s opening sequence.
Hill co-stars alongside Jillette, Missi Pyle (“Gone Girl”), Harry Hamlin (“Mad Men”), Nestor Carbonell (“The Dark Knight”) and Lin Shaye (“There’s Something About Mary”).
The movie, which was made on a $1.1 million budget thanks to the filmmakers’ crowdfunding efforts via FundAnything.com, is officially launching the 2016 Slamdance Film Festival Friday, January 22nd in Park City, Utah.
“I’m very proud to be in this movie and very excited that it has been selected to open Slamdance,” said Hill. “It’s a wild movie that I think will blow people’s minds.”
The Welsh-born blue-eyed actress has recently appeared in Sony Pictures’ “The Hungover Games”, Danny Glover’s “Bad Asses” and Marlon Wayans’ “A Haunted House 2”, and has four more films set for release later in 2016.
In “Director’s Cut”, Jillette – who also wrote and produced the film – plays a stalker who kidnaps his favorite movie actress (Pyle) and forces her to star in his movie. Rifkin’s (“Detroit Rock City”) playful direction hits all the right notes in this suspense-thriller.
