Zombies, zombies, zombies. Man, it seems like I haven’t written that in a good long while, but then that’s only because I took a little break from reviewing books. The relentless, shuffling march of the undead sure as hell hasn’t sopped its invasion of all things horror. There are more books with zombies in them then there were vampire books in the 80s, 90s, or even now. Yeah, that’s a whole lot o’ zombies. So with that many books on gut-munching ghouls available, is this latest guide worth your hard earned bucks?

Sadly, not really.

Now don’t get me wrong, this book isn’t all that bad, but it doesn’t do a thing that hasn’t already been done many, many times before. As opposed to a “name that undead” type of handbook, as the title sort of implies, this is more like one of those survival guides that get a few ironic laughs for just how seriously it takes the “impending” zombie apocalypse. It has the typical survival tips on fighting the undead, weapon choice, places to hold up in and fortify, equipment to scavenge, and so on. The only unique thing this book has going for it is it’s very Australian-centric focus. So if you’re from the land down under and want to get all nationalistic about your zombie survival guides, this is the book for you.  If you don’t fall into that (hopefully) small group and you are a zombie fan then save your cash, because chances are you’ve already got a book, or three or four, just like this one sitting on your book self, collecting dust.  So why add another?
