I think either way is considered published but I'm not really sure.

Well, if you sell a story to Escape Pod, for example, you're selling your audio rights. It might be a case of that, but I think Mark would probably know more about this....

Hmmm. I figured. I keep wondering what else to add to my website. If I keep adding tales, I'm denying myself some pay, perhaps, but I want the website to be updated with something people will want to come back to. Thanks.

I'm certainly no expert, but I believe anytime your story is available to the public -- in any form -- it's considered to be published. So while it's nice to have a story available, it might be even nicer to get paid for it by a magazine or anthology.
