Gary, I recently read Mr. Hands and was blown away. Fantastic stuff. I also picked up Coffin County and look forward to reading the previous "Cedar Hill" novels. You're an amazing talent... Best, Chris |

Chris: Sorry to be so late responding to you -- never a good idea to make a new reader feel like his or her kind words are being ignored ![]() I'm so glad you enjoyed MR. HANDS and hope you like COFFIN COUNTY, as well. You'll find that, aside from the novels being directly connected to one another, the 2 short stories that follow CC are directly connected to the novella "Kiss of the Mudman" that follows MR. HANDS. Please let me know what you think of CC -- and always bear in mind, I almost never follow traditional structure in my novels. The 4 Cedar Hill novels from Leisure have, in fact, become increasingly non-linear as they progress, and the 5th novel, FAR DARK FILEDS (to be released Fall 2009), will be the most experimental in structure of the bunch (think of the first 80 pages of COFFIN COUNTY -- that mosaic-like structure -- and apply it to an entire novel; yup, gonna be like that ![]() I am honored that you now call yourself a new fan, and hope that you'll remain a reader of my work. Thank you. Gary |

Mr. Hands was my first foray into the world of Braunbeck, and it was easily in my top 3 reads of 2007, maybe #1. I picked up Coffin County the day it came out, but have since decided to wait and read In Silent Graves and Keepers first, then Coffin County, so that I'll be prepared for Far Dark Fields next year. ![]() |

Flahorrorwriter (Chris), wait until you read In Silent Graves if you haven't yet: it's easily one of the best books ever written in any genre, ever. Trust me. ![]() |
