My dad called me tonight to let me know my step-sister has breast cancer. It seems that she may have a very rare form called Paget's disease. This will entail a double mastectomy and chemotherapy. We should know more this Friday when the final test results come back but the initial biopsy bears this out. While rare, this is one of the breast cancers that has a higher probability of a positive outcome. She's very strong willed and has a strong support system so everyone is very hopeful. |
