So now that the holidays are behind us, what are people reading? I just finished off a couple and am onto a third. Read a manuscript that hasn't gone to print yet, so I'll sit on that one for now. Read Mortal Touch, an original vampire novel by Inanna Arthen. Set somewhere in Massachusetts, it features strong characters and lots of interesting plot twists. Highly recommended. (ISBN-13 978-0979302800, published 2007 by By Light Unseen Media, ). Am almost finished reading another vampire novel, an older one (1980), Vampire Tapestry by Suzy McKee Charnas (ISBN-13: 978-0945953050). Interestingly enough, though they were written almost 30 years apart, they've got a lot of similarities. The vampires don't have fangs, the protagonist is a strong female, and the profession/job of the female is so well-written that you find it fascinating and natural. Also highly recommended. If you have a Kindle, you're in luck: Both books are available in Kindle format from Amazon.com. Morven |

I'm reading some short stories out of Joesph Payne Brennan's anthology, The Shapes of Midnight. |
