I just received the contract back for this collection of some of my mid-career short stories--mostly 90s. Genius Publishing is new (Norm Rubenstein is an editor there) and is attempting to get this book out by WHC in Salt Lake City in March 2012. Wayne Miller cover artist. Gene |

I've just gone over copyediting this collection. The stories from the late 80s and through the 90s are more easily placed in the dark sf, dark fantasy, dark horror genres than current work, but always a little mixing. The cover by Wayne Miller comes from a mixed sf/horror story about future gangs, "The 10th St. Wolfpack is Bad!" and it is very intriguing. About half of these stories first appeared in major genre magazines (like F & SF and SF Age) and mass market anthologies (like DEAD END: CITY LIMITS). I was surprised how well everything still holds up, including two favorites: "Flange Turner" and "The Great Wall." I'm guessing fans of my work will be pleased with this big book, reasonably priced. It'll debut at WHC in Salt lake City in March of 2012. Appreciate the interest, Gene |

Genius Books, the publisher is mailing five or so copies to Killercon. I plan on giving them and *some other books away at the mass signing. If interested come to my reading at 11:30 on Saturday and find out how to pick something up at the mass signing later in the day. *2 copies of DOUBLEJACK and 4 copies of RUSTING CHICKENS |
