There's not a whole lot I can add to what Tony posted in his review. This was one hell of a powerful read.

One of the things I did enjoy was the question of how the metal chickens always seemed to be in different postions when Rob looked at them. It's a nice look into Rob's mind as he grapples with that. I also like how Rob notices the chicken coops by the doors of the huts on the military mission that's a major part of the story. And the ending was spot on.

Rusting Chickens and Gene deserve every bit of praise that comes their way.
