Well we are almost sold out of two of our titles! The Confessions of St. Zach by Gene O'Neill and House of Shadow and Ash by John Urbancik. Both titles are under 10 copies each! It's a weird six degrees of Kevin Bacon kinda thing going on here with the two titles. Here goes the explanation... House of Shadow and Ash was illustrated beautifully by John Pierro who (long dramatic pause) is doing the art for two upcoming Gene O'Neill titles in 2009. OK so why am I telling you all this...well to give you a little hint about a couple of our titles for next year AND to let you know that if you haven't picked up your copy now is the time to do it! How could you go wrong with these titles?!?!

House of Shadow and Ash has "Cool Eyes" in it, who you may remember from the Babylon story John did in conjunction with Brian Keene. It is an amazing story with equally amazing art by John Pierro who used to be a Disney animator. It has a bunch of color illustrations. It is limited to 150 copies.

In the post-apocalyptic background of THE CONFESSIONS OF ST. ZACH, Jacob Zachary attempts to protect his family while maintaining his idealistic sense of humanity
in the face of increasing violence and a grim and daily deteriorating environment. Failing
miserably, he struggles on in spite of terrible personal loss in his search for spiritual redemption. Art by Steve Gilberts. Introduction by Gord Rollo. Limited to 300 copies. Also this is a favorite for a 2008 Stoker nomination!

Go on over to http://www.badmoonbooks.com and pick up your copies!

When Stokers preliminary balloting cuts off January 15th, it's very possible that BMB will have some strong contenders in the novel category, JOHNNY GRUESOME by Greg Lamberson is currently number one, and for long fiction where John Little and Gene O'Neill are neck and neck, one vote apart for the top spot with MIRANDA and THE CONFESSIONS OF ST. ZACH. There may be a few copies of each of these left over at BMB. Don't miss out.
Gene

Bad Moon has 3 titles on the 2008 Bram Stokers preliminary ballot! Johnny Gruesome by Greg Lamberson, The Confessions of St. Zach by Gene O'Neill and Miranda by John R. Little. We only have a few copies of each of the titles left so if you haven't picked one up do so. Tell a friend... heck tell a stranger!

ONLY 2 copies left of Confessions of St. Zach!
We have around 25 copies of Miranda and Johnny Grusome!

Roy and I want to thank Greg, Gene and John for their hardwork and effort into making it to the ballot and wish them all the best!

We have shipped out the proof copies of The Adventures of Maximillon Bacchus and His Travelling Circus by Clive Barker so be on the lookout for some reviews. If you happen to see any drop me a line at liz@badmoonbooks.com. I sometimes I don't catch all the news (good or bad) so if you have the time and spot one somewhere let me know. We mailed out over 60 proof copies so hopefully something will be out there :)
We have a couple of the proof copies left over and if you are interested in purchasing one let me know.
The book has been sent off to the printers for the trade and the SGD/LTD editions so we should have them to us in the next 3 to 4 weeks and be ready to ship.

For all you BMB letter buyers out there we are in production of Miranda by John Little. Chris Hedges is hard at work getting the edition done. Chris was the man behind The Scrubs letter editions, which turned out beautiful, and you will be quite impressed with his work on Miranda for sure! Roy and I are in discussion for the look of Little Graveyard on the Prarie from Steve Wedel and Lost Tribe by Gene O'Neill. These are both books 2 and 3 of our Eclipse line. When we have got some of the details down we will be sure to let you all know! Suffice to say Little Graveyard will contain two bonus stories (1 with all the letter buyers name and 1 extra story set in the same setting as the story) and Lost Tribe will include a bonus story set in the same area as the novel and a extra piece of art by the very talented Zach McCain.

Speaking of Little Graveyard and Lost Tribe we have a few copies left of each. Lost Tribe is down to 5 copies and Little Graveyard is not too far behind.

Last but certainly not least is As Fate Would Have It by Michael Calvillo. It’s a nasty tale of succulent and savory delights, love gone bad, and addiction most foul. Limited to 150 copies. Introduction by John Little and afterword by Lisa Morton. SIGNED by all!!! And to kick this lovely tale off we are having a contest!!!

AS FATE WOULD HAVE IT

Question... on the subscription... i know roy listed Vintage soul from DNW as one of the 09 titles but i know BMB is putting out there copy AFTER 5 Star... 5 Star isn't printing theirs until Dec. So for those of us who bought a 09 Subscription are we still gonna get a copy of Vintage even if it comes out say Jan 2010?? I love DNW's books and i just wanna make sure that's still part of this sub.

Thanks Roy and Liz.

Well I believe it will be covered. I knew that Vintage got pushed back but didn't realize how far back. I will also ask Dave and Roy to see what they say. Never fear Kurt your DNW fix will happen! :*

Post subject:  Re: Bad Moon Books News

I know this has been a long time coming but here is the Bad Moon Books updates!

As Fate Would Have it by Michael Calvillo has been shipped and it is selling like gangbusters! Michael stopped by our booth at the Fangoria convention this weekend and chated with a few people, signed a couple copies and talked with us about a couple new projects. Roy and I are gearing up for designing the letter edition it's gonna be a fun one!

The Hunger of Empty Vessels by Scott Edelman has also shipped out since our last update and it too is doing very well. There have been some great reviews of the novella floating out there in cyberspace. A letter edition is also in the works for this bad boy!

Both trade and signed/limited editions of The Adventures of Mr. Maximillian Bacchus and His Travelling Circus by Clive Barker have all been shipped. Clive talked this tale up at his panel at the Fangoria convention this weekend as well as mentioning the next book we are publishing of his called Candle in the Cloud. Both edition of the Bacchus title turned out great and we have moved into production of the letter and ultra editions. We still have a couple of slots opened for the letter edition. All ten copies of the ultra edition are sold out. There are some great little additions to the letter and ultra editions like signed by David Niall Wilson who wrote the afterword, concept art of the characters, crocodile pattern leather traycase, original full page drawings by Clive Barker and Richard Kirk plus a few more goodies that we don't want to spill the beans on... I mean we have to leave some surprises ;)

Post subject:  Re: Bad Moon Books News

So much stuff going on I had to put it in two posts :D

This weekend we received the letter editions of Lost Tribe by Gene O'Neill. I have lettered them and mailed all the copies out today so be on the lookout for your copy. They are beautiful if I say so myself and I do! Plus there is a extra short story by Gene and a extra art piece by Zach McCain, how can you go wrong with that!

Speaking of Gene that handsome devil has dropped a few hints here and there about the next book we are going to announce and it of course is one of his. Be on the lookout for a newsletter in the next couple of weeks letting you know where you can pick up the next book in our Eclipse line titled Shadow of the Dark Angel by the man, the myth, the legend Gene O'Neill. It is a great supernatural serial killer with a weird sexual fetish novel. To do a slight comparison it is similar to Thomas Harris' Red Dragon. Like all the titles in the Eclipse line there will only be 100 numbered copies done so make sure you are on our newsletter mailing list so that you will get the announcement when it is sent.

Many of you may or may not know but three of our titles have been nominated for Bram Stokers this year. Johnny Gruesome by Greg Lamberson in the Best Novel category, and two titles in the Long Fiction catergory Miranda by John R. Little and Confessions of St. Zach by Gene O'Neill. The awards will be held in Los Angels on 13th, can't wait to see what wins!

Post subject:  Re: Bad Moon Books News

I guess I am going for a trifecta post!

We have sold out of a few more titles since the last update! Our current sell outs ( :D ) are The Not Quite Right Reverend Cletus J. Diggs and the Currently Acceptable Habits of Nature by David Niall Wilson, The Confessions of St. Zach by Gene O'Neill, Miranda by John R. Little, Lost Tribe by Gene O'Neill and House of Shadow and Ash by John Urbancik.

Our current titles that are up for pre-order are:
Necropolis by John Urbancik. 150 numbered softcovers and 26 lettered hardcovers. All the photography is done by John as well. This is a errie story of love and loss set in a massive cemetery.

The Better Year by Bridget Morrow. 100 numbered softcovers. This is a wonderful novella from a new voice in the genre. This is a must have for any collection. There will be no letter edition done for this title so if you are a letter buyer make sure you get your order in for a numbered copy, because you don't want to miss this title.

We have a great line-up for the rest of the year with titles by Simon Clark, Lisa Morton, Gene O'Neill, Gord Rollo, and John R. Little to name a few.

If you have any questions or comments drop us a line at liz@badmoonbooks.com or roy@badmoonbooks.com :*

What a future! Glad I'm part of it.

I would appreciate a reaction from you folks receiving the lettered of LOST TRIBE--both on the novel and the bonus story "Ghost Town." With only 100 limiteds, I appreciate each and everyone's reactions.

I don't see an upgrade yet from BMB on the status of SHADOW OF THE DARK ANGEL. It's up for pre-orders at both BMB and HM. I understand it is three quarters sold out! Wow, great early response. I thought there would be copies for sale at the Stokers in June, since the book will be released at the end of May. Maybe not. So if you are on the fence and want one, you might want to get in a pre-order NOW.

Thanks for the support,
Gene
