Sex and horror go together like well, sex and anything good.  The Hot Blood series of past brought to light the tawdry relationship, displaying that sweat and blood mixed just right in the eyes of horror fans everywhere.

Along comes L.L.Soares, author of the Stoker finalist LIFE RAGE. Soares has been making a name for himself in recent years and has unveiled a new visceral voice that horror always needs.

ROCK ‘N’ ROLL might be what 50 Shades of Gray might have been if it were infused with darkness, style, and a plot.

Lash, the protagonist, has a certain power that is innocuous enough. He’s basically a sex machine but never has sex; he simply exists at a party or tryst and becomes a human ecstasy once he enters a trance.  He doesn’t, or won’t, touch anyone

His ex-wife, the last person he did touch, with dark results, keeps hounding him, addicted, just as many of his high profile clients. Things are just beginning to gel for him, a new relationship taking off, death finds him in the form of a client.

Lash reacts by finding the deepest, darkest recesses of his power and ROCK ‘N’ ROLL turns towards the abyss in the best way possible.

Is it horror?  Definitely. It’s just unlike much of what is out there and what has been. It’s strange, bizarre, erotic to the nth degree but highly readable and shows a much different side of Soares, a depth that many in the genre never reach for, yet he grabs hold of never lets go.

A unique, recommended accomplishment.
