Ms. Hawk certainly knows a thing or two about New Orleans and the magic it holds. In A TWISTED LADDER, she crafted an exquisite tale which captured the essence of a city like very few writers can. For those who are familiar with the city at the mouth of the might Mississippi, reading it whisks he or she right into the bayou, French Quarter, and the darker parts which tourists will likely never witness.

A TANGLED BRIDGE continues the story of Madeleine Leblanc and her mystical family.  When readers left the first book, Leblanc had come to accept her powers, the powers everyone in her bloodline holds. These mind games she can play can help, heal, or kill as written in LADDER.  Her half-brother, Zenon, still exists in the coma in which she put him yet has learned to walk the briar.

For those who have yet to read the first book, go read it and understand the magic of the briar, the Leblancs’ powers, and history.

Zenon and his great-grandmother Chloe are hellbent on seeking out Madeleine’s nephew, the son of her dead brother, who holds the key to many of the Lumens, people of light and who know of the briar.

Hawk’s story is a journey that few will regret taking. Walk across the bridge and learn about pigeon games, the briar, river devils, and other secrets that exist only in the Big Easy.

Recommended just as highly as her debut.
