I'd been hearing about my girlfriend Deena's mother for months, but today was the first time I would meet her. Nervous? Hell, yes. I had an inkling she might become my mother-in-law (in fact, that's exactly what happened later that year), so the pressure was on to make a good impression.

Yeah, you heard me right. Me, make a good first impression. Stop laughing.
