The
essence of speculative fiction is to ask, "What if?"
and today my what-if question is: what if a pregnant woman
in the throes of labor could physically and telepathically
split the pain with somebody else? I imagine that many mothers
at the peak of their birthing agonies have wished for such
an ability.
