KiLLER CON!
I'm sure I've mentioned recently on other threads how MUCH I'm looking forward to Killer Con, especially to meet those MBers of you who are going. This will Rock. I'm getting into the Stratosphere on Friday around 10am, checking in (the rooms at this place, btw, are fantastic, and cheap!) then hanging out. A good place to find me is always the dealer room. I have a panel, I believe, at 4pm, then I'm meeting a close friend from 6pm-7pm. At 7pm I have a panel where is something like Are Horror Writers Screwing Up the Genre? and, believe me, I will have much to say! And at 8pm (I think) I have a panel upon which I think I'm more than qualified to speak on: Nudity In Horror, or something along those lines.
When you check in, you'll get a Goodie Bag that has a program, so check this for all the great things scheduled. No I gotta run to the Post Office to Express Mail the probate papers my lawyer in MD emailed me in record time (God bless him!) then fax my mother's insurance transfer, then probably take a nap cuz I gotta take a cab to Tampa airport at 4a.m.! Jet Lag here we come.
Take care, everyone, and be well!
Edward Lee PS--I'll take pictures and find someway to post them here or on some accessible site.

I'm here and registered. Just waiting to meet the great man himself. I've already loaded up on books including the only TPB copy of Gord Rollo's The Valley of the Scarecrow which he used during his reading. Counting down the minutes until I meet Ed.

Killercon was beyond awesome in size and scope! I also got to hang out with Tony, Connie and Jeff and of course Edward Lee! We partied, gambled, drank, drank some more, read, talked, laughed and I had a blast! I will be doing a full write up on my site as soon as I recuperate, lol! Thanks to everybody for making this year’s Killercon one of the best weekends of my life. All the best, Chuck Rios
p.s. Lee, let me know what you want to do about the pictures I took and how I can get them to ya. You got my business card.

As promised now that I have access to a computer and internet I can write more about my experience. It has been over 10 years since i've flown and I was a little nervouse but nothing was going to stop me from going to Vegas and meeting Ed. The flight was great, and the descent into Vegas was amazing! I met up with Konnie and her husband, Jeff at Cabo Wabo wednesday night. They were really great. They showed me around the strip a little that night. The next day I went out and explored some more. A few of us met up for the Fremont Street Experience which was lots of fun. And then friday, after much waiting and anticipation, I finally met Ed. He's such a great guy, and lots of fun. He took lots of time to hang out with us. He even invited us to go souvenir shopping with him. After the mass signing he took me, Konnie, Jeff, Chuck and his wife out to the buffett. Thanks again for that, Ed! After dinner we went up to the Stratosphere observation deck and the night skyline was beautiful. We then went down to the casino floor to the C-Bar for a drink, and then it was off to the Deadite Press Gross-out Contest. The contest was epic. The stories were great and the MC was hilarious. I picked up about 8 new books while there including the only TPB copy of Gord Rollo's Valley of the Scarecrow-which he read during his reading. All the authors and everyone else were very friendly, and approachable. This may have been my first Con and first trip to vegas, this will not be my last. I am already looking forward to next year!
Thanks again Ed, Konnie, Jeff, Chuck and your wife, and Anthony & Alexis- You guys made this a great weekend, and a great convention. I couldn't have asked for better company!

Wow!! I really cannot add anymore to what Tony said!! We had an awesome time, and everyone on this board is so friendly and cool!! All of us had met even before dinner, so it really felt comfortable and laid back...like we had known each other for years instead of days! Edward Lee really does have the best fans!
Lee---thank you, thank you, thank you!! Your generosity is incredible, especially with the time you spent with us. We all had a blast hanging out with you. I laughed so much during the souvenir shopping, it was so much fun!
I posted some pics to my Twitter page, which I really don't use, but it's not set to private so everyone can see them. I'll post more to my Facebook account later today (hopefully, I'm still pretty tired!). Since I'm not real familiar with Twitter, please let me know if you can't see the pics.
Holy smokes! Killer Con 4 was purely and simply FANTASTIC! Great guests, great facility, great programming and staff. But the very best part for me was receiving the pleasure of hanging out with message-boarders Konnie, Jeff, Tony, Chuck, and Anthony. They are dynamite people, and I hope this was only the first of many Killer Cons they attend. I don’t think I’ve ever had so much fun at a convention before (and I’ve been going to these things for eons!) They usual suspects were great as well: Ketchum, Keene, Wrath, the Deadite Crew (you should’ve seen the zombie makeup Jeff Burk got! I thought he was genuinely a member of the walking dead!) F. Paul Wilson, Allen K. (one of my very favorite artists), Bill Gagliani, Gene O’Neil, Gord Rollo, and–damn–tons more. Icon William F. Nolan was there, along with Brian Lumley (both very nice guys) and super successful Kelley Armstrong (very cool gal). John Skipp was his usual blazingly introspective and intelligent self and also demonstrated a new-found area of expertise: dance machine! I got to have dinner with my former Leisure editor and good friend Don D’Auria, which was an especial treat. The Gross Out Contest was among the most disgusting, with a central topic that seemed to pay serious homage to that region of the human physique which exists to void the Ole Number Two. I met Damien Walters Grintalis who first novel INK comes out from Samhain in a couple weeks; the books concept is dynamite (but I won’t tell you, so you check it out yourself!) Jack Ketchum and I toasted our 20th year as friends and convention cohorts (and, lucky him, he received the luxury of lounging back on a, shall we say, Bed of Bosoms. (I’m sure the pix will appear on the internet soon.) I almost heave-ho’d when Konnie, Jeff, Tony, Chuck Rios and I went up to the top of the Stratosphere; turns out it’s 900 feet in the air! There were people paying 100 or 200 bucks to bungie jump from there. I passed on that privilege. Konnie’s aforementioned “souvenir” shopping spree was indeed interesting. (I won’t go into details save to say only in America could you find glow in the dark rubbers and walking breasts). There was one shop that sold, among much else, an untold number of skulls or all shapes and sizes. And there was a GREAT Zombie Elvis statue. (I should’ve bought it) My total beer tally for 4 days was 7 beers–not bad!–and I only lost 30 bucks gambling. In all, it was a wonderful convention; I’m definitely going again next year, and I hope many of you can too.

I just want to revive this thread to say thank you for signing my books at Killercon this year for me Ed, it's a bugger I didn't get to go again this year but I'm hoping you'll be going again next year.
I still have those empty cigarette packets I was collecting for Wendy.

Lee, Finally found some time to post here...briefly. Lee is one of the coolest authors I have ever met...period. He genuinely cares and the time we shared down at the bar was awesome...I think...I did do some Brian Keene Birthday celebrating beforehand and was not exactly "sober"...though what I do remember will last a lifetime. If you guys get a chance to get out to KillerCon it will not disappoint. Thanks again Lee!
