Good news/Bad news....

Good News...I got accepted into the college program I applied for.

Bad news: Shelley is in a lot of pain. She's shaking and whining. Can't pick her up because she screams and snaps. She got me good on the side of the neck. Vet appointment at 4.

The only one that ever bothered me was the 7.1. Other then that it is like a ride. That Loma Prieta was freaking rough. It lasted for a long time and the aftershocks lasted for over an hour. Imagine over an hour of the ground not being solid but wobbling. I actually watched the front end of my camaro bounce off the ground several times at a height of about 6 to 12 inches. Yah... that one was rough.

Anything under a 4.5 I don't feel anymore. Unless it is a solid jolt one way. Still it would have to be over a 4.

Took the day off from word (I got 5 weeks left of vacation) and it's a beautiful day! Worked on the garden and the yard most of the morning, it's coming along great (T.T.: Slug Killer!) and the sun is doing wonders for it. Tons of these little bee's outside though, all over the back lawn, never seen these before and I don't know where they came from; I guess I'll mow it tonight.

Got to finish a review this afternoon, go to the store, and then kick back. I already went to the store this morning and on the highway I saw that someone lost an entire rear bumper and an orange cone in the far left lane. Cars where everywhere trying to dodge it. I debated on calling 911 but then imagined some terrible accident so I did. After I gave the info I went into the cigar store to buy some cigars. The owner called me over and gave me 4 cigars for free! And no cheapo's either. I thought maybe karma was at work here.

For perspective sake, I'm posting this photo of me from last September when I climbed Grays Peak. Behind me is another 14er, Torreys Peak, and descending to its right is a much tougher route called Kelso's Ridge. This ridge contains a "knife edge" portion that most people sit and butt-scoot across.

And then there's people like this guy, who just make a run for it.
