Finally, the post-All Hallow's Blues are wearing off! I gotta go back to MD tomorrow (Tues., the 8th) and hopefully return on the 12th. Soon, I truly hope, I'll be able to report more than minuscule progress on Header 3. Oh, and I had a big surprise treat today: got two unexpected small royalty checks in the mail today, plus notice from Leisure that the book easily earned out its advance and a respectable royalty check is on the way. Thank God and Yog-Sothoth.
Right now, btw, I'm watching Zombie Stripper starring Jenna Jameson. Not quite t literary equal to The Grapes of Wrath but it does quite nicely!
Thanks, all, as always for your support! I'll be in touch after Nov. 12th. Best, Edward Lee

Coincidentally a few days ago I watched the The Grapes of Wrath which Lee mentions in the opening post. After a few minutes you see a kind of truck stop called "Crossroads". I wonder if that was the inspiration of the Crossroads in Bighead (and I think a few other titles)
CR666: yeah, if you could get me a copy, I'd be grateful. Sounds right up my alley. Gorch: You know, I was unaware of the truck stop being called Crossroad, but now that you've been kind enough to retail the info to me, for now on in interviews I'll point out the obvious literary/existential symbolism of my Crossroads tavern. See, it's not REALLY a redneck tavern full of meth-heads, drunks, and bottom-barrel hookers; it's a societal metaphor for humankind's strife and suffering in an antagonistic environment!
