My sociology book will cost me $53 if I photocopy it at the school library. If I buy it used, it's $95 ($80 on amazon and ebay). If I rent it, it's $65 at B&N and $63 at the other used textbook store.

So much for my fantasy baseball team. Three of my pitchers are probably out for the remainder of the season, both catchers have been seeing playing time reduced. A-Rod may, yet again, go back on the DL and his replacement on my team gets every couple days off. Plus my big hitters have fallen silent with their bats.

I was doing awesome, was 12 up on the guy in second place two weeks ago. But with Carlos Zambrano having his melt down, two of my closers and a starter on the DL, there just went 1/4 of my pitching staff. Pujols and Fielder can only carry me so far. Chipper Jones is only playing 3 out of 4 games at the most, and my catchers have seen their playing time reduced. I was really looking forward to A-Rod's return to help me out. I've already looked at the free agents and there's no one that will help me out.
If things continue the way they have, I'll be in third by Monday.

I'll be lucky if I make it through the first round of the playoffs. the only thing that helped me last week, is that the guy I was up against, lost several players as well, but none of his pitching staff. My pitching staff is hurt badly. Now I'm waiting to hear the status of two of my outfielders, both my third basemen, my second baseman, and my catchers. There is no one I can replace them with.

After almost two grueling weeks with little sleep and no hours to myself I finally took my test and passed. Talk about a happy camper. The girls at work gave me a little congratulations party. I am completely and totally mentally wiped out.

Today it was so hot and humid where I am, that I had to hire those little green men to follow me around with tiny buckets to catch all the sweat rolling off of me.

After that, they poured more cold beer down my throat and then left me with nothing more than a few slices of cheese.

Another fantasy football draft in the books. I made some good value picks of wide receivers, so I may have some trade bait to try and bolster my weak ass running game. No Chiefs this year, but I did grab two Patriots.

This being a holiday weekend, I got to, oh joy of joys, work on Saturday pushing carts and loading cars. In 95 degree heat. Off Sunday, which was very rainy. Did the same thing today as Saturday, except in 65 degree weather. Which proves the saying around here--if you don't like the weather in Columbus, wait five minutes, it'll change.

I hate retail. To quote Danny Glover, I'm getting too old for this shit.
