That is one series I have been really meaning to start. I have the first five books sitting on my book shelf. I heard great things about it!

On my Kindle: The complete, unabridged stories of H.P. Lovecraft, including all the collaborations and posthumous stories (I skipped the Randolph Carter "Key" stories, though, as I can't handle that Dunsany fantasy thing).

American Gods by Neil Gaiman - picked up a 1st HC at NECon 31.

Flashback by Dan Simmons - no this will not convince me to vote for a Tea Party candidate; nice try, though. I am looking forward to the lack of politics (I hope) in "The Abominable" coming next.

Not sure what I'll start after that tonight. Something Laymon? Andy Deane's All the Darkness in the World?, Matthew Stokoe's Cows? Bryan Smith's House of Blood?

If you don't enjoy extreme horror, I would skip Bryan's novels.

Reading The Teratologist by Edward Lee and Wrath James White. When I turn my Kindle off I see Ralph Ellison and Jane Austen staring at me and I can't help but think they are spinning in their graves at my Kindle content.

I happened by a small bookstore today and found a couple of books. The first being H.P Lovecraft's The Call of Cthulhu and Other Weird Stories. I don't think I've read any of Lovecraft's works or just forgot what I read because it's been so long. The other book I bought was Alice in Zombieland by Lewis Carroll and Nickolas Cook. So I started reading it today, I hadn't started on my Morlan book yet, so this is a short new read. I'm sure it'll be quite fun. I'll let you know.

THE USHERS is a collection by Lee containing a good deal of his less extreme work. In fact, the title piece is one of my fave stories of all-time. Gripping, haunting,chilling, with a real literate sensibility and real autobiographical, emotional depth (I'm not saying it *is* autobiographical, but it has that sense of authenticity about it).

Halloween - Curtis Richards. Was as close to the movie as possible, but it added some really unnecessary backstory.

Started:

THE TERMINAL STATE - Jeff Somers. A little noirish sci-fi. Sometimes a break from the horror isn't a bad thing.

Just finished Creekers by Edward Lee. Its a story about deranged imbred rednecks. (as always Lee keeps you entertained)

I'm starting The Annotated H.P. Lovecraft

, It takes four of his stories and provides footnotes as to where he got his ideas and other cool facts.
