I went to a Drive-In this weekend and I took the kids to the play area before the movie. They had a sound system and were pumping The Beatles. It was pretty sweet!

I listened to about 30 bands in concert over Labor Day weekend. Had a wonderful time!!

Thelonious Sphere Monk. Not only one of the greatest Jazz pianists/composers that ever lived, but the coolest name I've ever heard.

What name is cooler than Thelonious Sphere Monk?

I've to a mix on the iTouch. The Goo Goo Dolls (Iris) just finished up and next up is The Guess Who (No Time). I also have Neil Young/Buffalo Springfield/CSN&Y mix I might plug in later.

I'm at work so I'm not listening to anything at the moment. But this morning I listened to a Neil Young bootleg from 1974 from a performance at The Bottom Line (sadly, gone now). Neil played a set in this small club after touring stadium's with Crosby Stills and Nash and only played songs that had never been released. The show is legendary.

Patron's were very polite and for the most part listened very quietly, you can even hear beer bottles clanking together during some of the songs.

The New Haven Arena! I remember that joint. New Haven Blades (hockey) played there......chicken wire instead of plexiglass. Used to be some great brawls there....but i digress, nothing musical about hockey fights (or is there?)
