MMPB= mass market paperback, your typical softcover TPB= trade paperback, the larger format, easier and more fun to read softcover HC= hardcover. I use the term “trade HC” for an unsigned edition of unknown quantity LIM= limited. A press run of an exact quantity of books, generally also signed. Typically a publisher has a few extra copies bound so that he has replacements for damaged ones. I have sent damaged books back to the publisher and they write the same number in another copy and send that one to me. Un-needed extra copies have “PC” (publisher’s copy) written on the number line and get handed out or sold as is seen fit by the publisher. This also happens to “LET” editions. LET=lettered. The premier state of a publisher’s edition of a book. Typically in a slipcase or traycase. With extras such as signed art or another story bound in. The general run would be 15, 26, or 52 copies. Called “lettered” because the first copy would be “A”, the second “B”, up to “Z” for an edition of 26. A 52 copy edition would have copy 27 called “AA”, then “BB” up to “ZZ” for copy 52. ISBN=The International Standard Book Number. Most publishers apply for this number and put it on their book jacket or on the declaration page. Some publishers have decided not to have their books listed in this system, thinking that it is the mark of the devil or some such malarkey.

Hey. I put this together in the last couple days. If anybody has corrections or additions please comment in this thread and I will make changes to the document, re-post it, and credit you as a contributor! I obviously need a bunch of pricing info, especially for the lettereds. Enjoy!
Glad you like it, Mr. Lee. I will keep at it and try to keep it up to date. I especially like the ISBN data. Now that was a bit tough to pull together.........
Rather than having many copies of this list in this thread as I make changes I will edit the first post. Already I have had plenty of help and made quite a few changes. Thanks guys and keep the info moving. There are lots of question marks to remove!
Triangle of Death is a non fiction book about the JFK assassination; not bad if you're into such things. However, Makak and The Table will definitely be in a trade pb collection that will likely be published by Erasurehead Press. I've received the impression that their editions will be a little less pricey too, which is always welcome. Thanks and take care!
"Deadite Press, Eraserhead’s horror fiction imprint, is resurrecting. The line will be focusing on the top small press horror names and classic cult reprints. April As yet untitled novella collection by Edward Lee
September As yet untitled short story collection by Edward Lee The King in Yellow by Robert Chambers
And this is just the beginning. Expect many more exciting projects to be announced throughout the year."
This gets me excited! Can't wait for these babies to be released!
_________________ "The Living Dead and the dying living are all the same. Cut from the same cloth. But disposing of dead people is a public service, whereas you're in all sorts of trouble if you kill someone while they're still alive."
This sounds absolutely wonderful. With these two projects, Going Monstering, Ed's Leisure release, and whatever else he plans on putting out this year, it seems like another banner year for Edward Lee and his twisted offerings.
Jeez. Ereserhead Press is really stepping up to the plate! Half of their 2010 releases look like "must haves" to me. The Edward Lee collections will also fill a real gap in availabilty for many of the hard to find works people want to read. Speaking of stuff people want to read. HEADER II. I am just aching for a publisher announcement!

I work for Eraserhead Press and I just wanted to confirm some things. First off yes we are doing two collections with Edward Lee but the contents is still in the early planning stages. There most likely won't be a big official announcement until we get everything put together. The price of the books will be unknown until the final page count is put together but our books are, on average, $10 to $13.
I hope Lee doesn't mind me spilling the beans, but Ever Nat will be reprinted in the first collection.
Thanks for the interest in Eraserhead! That schedule was just what we could officially announce in January. We have a lot more awesome projects from the best names in Bizarro and Horror that have not been announced yet.
Any chance "The Cadaver" will be included in either of these collections? Having never coming across a copy of the Lettered version of The Ushers, this story remains one of the rare ones.

I am glad some of these stories are going to be able to be read by more fans. I hope all my 1st's don't depreciate in value though with how much I paid for them! I did get a lot of good deals though so I can't really complain.
Jim~ I don't know if you know this but Sleep Disorder had a lettered run of 52. Couldn't tell you how much they originally sold for, but I have letter B.
lthrby1: regrettably, The Cadaver is one I can't reprint via an agreement with the publisher, but...it's about the lowest-class thing I've written! And thanks, all, for this wonderful pub list--after all these years I've forgotten all about some of the things I've writen,
THE CADAVER isn't bad, it just is.......kinda pointless. A night in the life of a mortuary watchman. You are welcome, Ed. In the last year I realized that the Necro list wasn't complete. I wanted to provide some new info so I decided to do the list by Publisher. Not sure if it actually adds anything but it allows people to look at both sites and figure out what they need to know in different formats. I also am keeping a list of Necro Publications. It often is hard to find on the web so if anyone here wants to know what David Barnett has done message me and I will send you a list. That one runs by date of publication. Again, different than the one at his site. Jim
Wow, 350 for a delux Trolley. That's almost my rent! JPOKELA, it may be that you didn't quite receive some details in The Cadaver. See, it's all about the cadaver's identity, which I tried hard to conceal from the reader. Hint: the title's namesake is a famous person...

One other thing... the steep price for a Bloodletting Lettered has always been worth every penny. Never received one that I was disappointed with. Trolley next to Going Monstering Lettered should decorate the TV room nicely.
Hmmmmmmm. Well I found a famous person who died at a hospital named Salpêtrière. Close enough, I think I figured it out. First, your sendup of a well regarded president in your short story SECRET SERVICE, and now this. You should be proud!
