I ordered the kindle version.... who knows when I will actually get it. The publisher is delaying the ebook release. I wish I had known that before I pre-ordered it.

Started this last night...except for a few passages and the locations, I would not have know it was Stephen King who wrote it. It seems to be very uncluttered so far, an easy read. I am really liking it.

The King event is in Toronto on Thursday. It is a discussion between King and David Cronenberg. King has hinted that a lot of the discussion will be about horror movies.

I have an extra ticket on the small chance that someone will be in Toronto on Thursday.

I started this last night. I was just reading along and enjoying the ride when I thought... Food. Holy crap people run to the grocery store and stock the hell up lol

Of course I am only about 45 pages in or so.... Wierd though that I panicked myself over food.

Nanci that collectors edition looks amazing. I also just got the $9 amazon copy but you won't here any griping about that it's awesome. I just hit page 300 and the book is great so far. My only gruff is having to hold the thing all day while I'm reading it at work. Dang thing is heavy. Very fast pace novel though those first 300 pages just flew by.

I've been thinking about this book for awhile now. I do want to start off by saying I did enjoy it, but there has been one issue that's been really clawing at the back of my mind.

*SPOILERS BELOW*

I don't understand the suicide bit. After the dome landed, people were prone to commit suicide. I wouldn't think that it would have started so soon after it landed if it were simply a pshycological impulse. But King makes it evident that it wasn't, that the dome somehow caused this (the bear and the other critters for example). But the whole thing doesn't fit to me. If what was making the dome in the first place was really who he said it was, how in the heck could they do that? Did I miss something.

And another thing that bothers me, is the explanation for the dome itself. I may be in the minority here, but I thought it was lame. I guess I should be glad it wasn't a giant turtle.

I read this on another forum and thought it was interesting.

"The symbol found on the transmitter generating the dome is the same exact symbol that appears on the entrance to IT's lair. Are the leatherhead "children" supposed to be of the same species as the creature in IT? It would make sense as they're described as having no real form and the creature in IT is also a xenomorph, not to mention the leatherheads being able to access the most traumatic experiences in our minds."
