I am considering going to the event in August. Although extremely excited, I am finding myself quite anxious because I have never been to a gathering such as this before and am unsure what to expect. Silly questions such as what I wear, what I bring, are there private parties, will celebs be hanging out after signings in public areas (THE BAR!). My girlfriend is now trying to get me to go (I guess she wants a weekend to herself) and I am on the fence on whether or not to dive in for the ticket, hotel reservation, flight, and spending money. I digress. I guess my point of this topic is to find out what your thoughts are. Any info would be much appreciated. Bob

Well, my supervisor returned my leave request slip back to me today. DENIED! I am so bummed. I was looking forward to my first con. I got my hopes up. Dammit. Y'all have fun for me as I am out dealing with customers looking for a check, and waiting by their mailbox only to bitch about bills and junk mail. This blows. Bob

Stuff's cool with me; my next mass market novel, Brides of the Impaler, comes out in bookstores August 26th. Right now I'm working on a Lovecraftian novella which is panning out well.
