Do you believe in ghosts?

Not only do I believe, I have seen and felt some things that I can't explain.

I believe. One day I will post the extremely messed up occurences I had while dating my ex. It was like creepy stuff was drawn to this girl. I've seen furniture move, bloody handprints appear and even a seance that went very wrong. And a lonely cabin in the woods north of Montreal where you can hear a baby's anguished cry in one room only...

I've come to the conclusion that absolutely anything is possible in this universe we all exist in.

There's the mystery of pictures being taken of spirits that cannot be explained. Some of the things you see on cable shows you know is bullshit, but then others can make you lose sleep.

I've always thought a creepy ghost story-whether fiction or not-can creep you out far more than anything gory can, if it's written right.

On that note I'd like to invite the ghost of Marilyn Monroe to feel free to haunt me any time she would like.

(By now most of you on here know I have this Marilyn Monroe thing-and no, I do not believe the mob or the Kennedy's killed her.)

That's a new book--The HorrorWorld Big Book of Ghost Stories.

I remember one of Hello's stories weirding me out, and one of Victor's scaring the bejeebers out of me.

The more I think about it, the more I like the idea. It'd be pretty cool, I think.

One night, many years ago, I was working the graveyard shift at a Toll plaza on The Maine Turnpike. This exit is what we refer to as being a side exit and not a barrier toll which as it's name implies stretches across the highway.

It was 3am on a Sunday,
we were in a new moon phase and consequently the night was darker than usual.It was late January and the temperature was -10F. I was sitting in the booth reading when I sensed some motion across the toll plaza near the commuter parking lot. Near the entrance to the parking lot is a decrepit old phone booth, this is where the motion was coming from. I looked over at the phone booth and saw what appeared to be a young woman in a rather nice looking business suit. My first thought was where in the hell did she come from it had to be at least one hour since the last car got off the highway, my second thought was she must be pretty cold. Like I said she was only wearing that suit and the temp was -10f. Being the nice guy that I am, I decided that this was my chance to rescue a damsel in distress. I can't tell you how wrong I was, she was not a damsel nor was she in distress. Walking across the road, I noticed something most unusual about her. I would say she was about the same height as myself which is about 5'6" tall, nothing unusual there, she however attained this height with no legs. yes, you read it right, her legs ended at the knee, she obviously had to be levitating, i should have turned around and gone back but i didn't. when I made over to the other side and began walking straight on toward the phone booth she was standing facing me. At this point all I could see now was her her torso as she was bent over and she was no longer wearing her business suit. With each step I now took towards her she was slowly coming back up, she was bowing to me her bow however, was in perfect sync with each step I took. When I bot to within about 10 feet of her she became fully erect. What I saw looking back at me was a very beautiful Japanese Geisha in a long, flowing, white kimono. She smiled and my blood froze. Before me was the most terrifying vision I had ever seen. Her smile, revealed lips that were blood red, her teeth were also red and dripping as if she had been recently feeding. I turned and went back to the toll booth and never glanced back.

When I got home I did some research and found some material on a female Japanese demon known as "Oni" from what I have read I believe that is what I saw.
