Hey folks,
Tonight I was thinking of taking some pictures of my book collection. While it will probably take me a year to actually find the time to do it, I thought I'd see if some of the other collectors that visit here would start.
Instead of posting pictures of your entire collections which would take up a ton of space on this thread, let's do it by author. My Richard Laymon books are the pride and joy of my collection so let's start with Mr. Laymon. I'll try to take a few pictures of my Laymon stuff soon, but let's see if someone else wants to start.
I thought it would be fun and we can start new threads for each seperate author. We won't do it all at once, but from time to time. If no one wants to do it, that's fine as well.

Well I'm going to post my pictures here, but I wanted to say something first. You'll notice different titles that I have more than 1 copy of. Let's just say it's a sickness and I need help. Most of the duplicates came from finding a better copy and then just not having the heart to sell the other copy. I'm a Laymon addict.
Other duplicates are due to the fact that my goal is to have a signed copy of every Laymon hardcover. Not inscribed though just simply flat-signed. But if I can't find a flat-signed copy I'll buy an inscribed edition. So some of these the first copy was inscribed and later on I found one that was just simply signed.
I have two copies of A WRITER'S TALE since the publisher actually made a mistake on some of the copies. You'll find a small number of copies that have the same front and back endpapers and then some copies that actually have a different front and a different back endpaper. Not sure which version is rarer as most people aren't even aware this happened.
And yeah my camera sucks.
Thanks everyone for posting your pictures. This is a lot of fun. And Jason I'm very jealous. Here I thought I'd have the best Laymon collection to post.

One other little detail. The Beast House books are all number 69. Well besides Friday Night which wasn't numbered. And yes I thought number 69 was fitting for a Laymon set.
And no I don't have a copy of A STRANGER'S ARMS. I simply can't force myself to pay hundreds and hundreds of dollars for a little paperback which most of the time is also in horrible creased shape. At least the few I've seen online over the years. And yes I still do want it and I'll probably pay that someday. I know I know.
Just wonderful, Don. If you ever find the burden of owning two copies of FLESH and TREAD SOFTLY is too heavy to bear . . . well, you have my email address.

Will do my friend. I might throw them up on eBay soon through Shocklines. It's always tough to gauge value on these signed Headline hardcovers for Laymon. Part of why I've never sold any to date.
So how long should we wait to do another author? Do you think this is it for people posting their collection of Laymon? Or move on and someone can always post later who sees the thread?
We all started somewhere. My first Laymon were paperbacks. Don, are you going to start a new thread for a different author? Latecomers could always still post their Laymon picks that way.
Wow, some great photos of some great collections. Laymon is easily my favourite author and I've read and collected his books since the early 80s. I still have all of the original paperbacks as well though they are very dog-eared from multiple readings.
Here is one more photo of some books not included in the first batch. I know I've got some other signed stuff kicking around including a magazine, some chapbooks and several anthologies, but I don't want to get carried away!
I'm ready for the next author, who will Don choose?

Riddle me this, any of you Laymon fans tell me why there was Alarms and Alarums?
I have no photo's worth posting, I've got a copy of A Writer's tale and a couple of chapbooks, but all you guys put me to shame. I've read pretty much all his work and my favorite by far was Island. Nice to see Don Koish has a couple of copies of that bad boy.

Cheers Hansen, that would make sense. I know there have been a few titles that have been called different things in the US and over here. Like Amara & to wake the dead, and Glory Bus & into the fire.

...and I used to be happy with my Laymon collection. You're all bastards! I've been reading Laymon for years, since he has been widely available in Australia since the 80's. Most of my Laymon stuff is in paperback and I have never pursued his back collection in hardback. I do however have all his CD limited's and some of the lettereds (I did have ambitions of trying to get all his CD in lettered...). But they are home, and I am not. So no pictures to share.
I am so jealous of everyone who has the Wilds. Every time I see a copy for sale its up for ridiculous money. Ive read everything else he's written apart from the young adult novels and a writers tale which i'm not too bothered about. So somebody please tell me what its like?
