My mom and I have decided to move back to Idaho come next summer. Recent events and talks with people I know there, have me reconsidering the move.

I'd be all over it except there is no option to read on a Kindle. I can't read on my phone or laptop. Maybe Amazon will do something similar. Nice way to to get movement on back listed titles.

Debating whether to keep messing with this novel I started about 7 years ago, or write a couple short stories that have been bouncing around in my head.

I found out that I'd never emailed the novel chapter to myself nor saved it to a flash drive when we bought a new laptop a few years ago. I did, however, have a printout buried in my office desk. I've been re-typing it (which really means re-writing it - it was VERY rough), which is soooo tedious.

I'm always amazed at the ones where they have no clue about how odd they look. The bunny family, the bald guy with the booze...all of them really. I the about above though does make me wonder if that person is really lying on his stomach.

Went to the HWA LA Chapter meeting last night where we talked about upcoming events, opportunities, various works in progress; bought a battered old book of Percy Shelley's poetry, saw a 1928 translation of the Malleus Maleficarum; I was part of a video chorus wishing Hal Bodner a speedy recovery from back surgery, and I learned how to pronounce fellow Eulogist Eric Guignard's name. Also, Halloween candy was eaten.

The only downer (in order to get there) - driving on a stretch of the 60 freeway that's been widened, altered, repaired so many times it resembles the surface of a patchwork quilt, and with the setting sun shining directly in your eyes you can't see the lane delineation and have no freakin' clue other than to follow the vehicle in front and hope they know where they're going. (If anyone's playing GTA 5 - they've got the nasty, patchy concrete road surfaces spot on) That's a five lane undulating highway in near total blindness, everyone charging along at 65 plus.
