Seven Realms Publishing is proud to announce the signing of the wife and husband writing team of Raven and Lain Bower in their incredible new paranormal thriller “Storm Moon”…definitely not your average, sparkly werewolf story. Here’s a blurb about the book:
One night. One crime. Two lives shattered.
Federal witness Wrey Madison is forced out of her native Chicago and into the back woods of northern Michigan. Cut off from her family and friends she etches out a life for herself with new friends. But no one there, not even her best friend Deputy US Marshal Billie Dalton, knows who Wrey really is. What she is.
When Wrey meets mysterious Arvon Night, her precious new life begins to unravel, for he too has a dark secret and within him lurks a beast that perhaps not even he can control.
When the shades of her past return hell bent on silencing her before trial – who can she trust? Will Billie shun her if he discovers what she is? Is Arvon a friend…or is he something much worse than those seeking to silence her?
Raven and Lain Bower are a wife and husband team of writers. They are avid role-players and love to design mythical and diabolical creatures, characters and fantastic worlds together. They are the co-creators of Farath, a new epic fantasy world in the works.
Raven’s first book, ‘Apparitions’ is ghostly horror book now available in ebook with a paperback release in June 2010.
Lain and Raven also wrote the screenplay for ‘The Nano Effect’, a dark futuristic suspense movie that is currently under production at Mad Lab Films.
Their newest project, ‘Storm Moon’, is a sizzling urban fantasy to be released by Seven Realms Publishing in late 2010.
Raven is a member of International Thriller Writers.

I always thought it would be fun to collaberate on a story or novel but my wife doesn't enjoy writing for fun. She's more of a numbers person. SHe does help edit my stories though, which helps a lot.

Thanks
Oh my gosh yeah. Having someone who is able to edit through your work before you send it in is beyond their weight in gold. As the author of the work it's really hard to see mistakes - your mind just fills in the right material even if it's missing or wrong in the document.
Ttzuma - does she not like horror or not like reading in general?

She is a born again christian, so no, she won't even look at my writing. It's a bit comical really, we each have our own rooms, I have a den, and she has what I call The God Room, where we do our thing. She does not comment or even criticize, well, not a lot anyway, what I read, mostly I think because she knows an argument would break out. But we make it work, and I guess thats what counts.
And you are very lucky to have a spouse as a first/proof reader. I always feel badly when asking friends to read my writing.

Making it all work is what counts. And thank goodness we're not all the same!
The writing partnership with Lain and I works well because we're so opposite in a lot of ways. Where I'm emotion and character driven, he's character driven but the cold logic. So we have the same base which is Character IS Fiction. But our bents otherwise differ. And man...can fur fly at times when they clash LOL
What kind of stories do you write?

I bet collaboration can be difficult at times. I collaborated once with a friend and it worked out very well, but I'm not sure how it would work with a spouse. Does one or the other usually win arguments, or does one of you defer most of the time? It could be an interesting dynamic.
I write all sorts of stories, nothing in particular. I've got two in final consideration now at two different publishers, but won't know until July on both of them. The initial feedback was very good though when getting through the first cuts. We'll see.

Sad news on the Storm Moon front - Seven Realms (7R) just went Family Orientated. Meaning they want all of their titles to be able to be read by the entire family from kids to grandparents. Though I think this is a good move for 7R as they'll have a nifty little niche, my work doesn't fall within that description. They offered to publish Storm Moon anyway (and the rest of the series) but unfortunately that would mean that the series wouldn't receive a whole lot of post publishing support as their target audience wouldn't quite reach my audience.
But...A few other publishers are currently looking at it so keep fingers crossed!
Tt- hehe that depends...mostly on which of us is right. Usually when it comes to making character based decisions (like would Arvon really do or say that? How would Wrey truly react to this?) then Lain backs down. On the other hand, he's usually right when it comes to pointing out plot flaws or in debates over whether or not to add a certain twist.
