Yep. It's just there and so hard to explain. I wouldn't have it any other way though. It's too fun
Right now our main focus is on the stories. Not only does writing and RPing in the world help us develop new spells, critters etc. but also helps us to develop and solidify Farath with strong history and cultures that have depth and meaning.
For instance the writing of Night Wing brought to life not only a very elusive, custom race of mine but also answered questions we had about some of the current thought and mythos of this particular time period. Night Song (the sequel) will continue on with these. Even this trilogy will offer just a scant view of what we have and what the world is like.
After we get the series going and there's enough interest we'll be putting out other media. The rule book and a brief overview of the the world. But being sticklers for 'showing and not telling' we'll also be putting out adventure modules so that players can experience the world first hand. Each module will start to introduce to the players the different races, customs, powers and critters of the world.
It's our opinion that those should come first and then start on manuals for monsters, magic etc. But that's us - we're very focused on story, intrigue and making characters that are actually living, breathing people. Not bundles of powers on paper.
Whichever publisher we manage to lure into this might disagree though. And since they're the ones that will be putting it out then we'd have to bend to how they'd want it set out.
