Hey, Tony, thanks as always for your kind plug! Photos are 2-D memories to which you add the 3rd dimension of emotion, and they travel well across associations for others and their memories. The funny ones – the spoofs, anyway – I have to give credit to Doc Foto for. He’s a remarkable folk musician and philosopher with many hats who I’ve known all my life. First as an 11-yr old kid I kind of took under my wing when I was coaching at age 17, and later as a water polo teammate. His name is Mark Manrique and we’ve been bantering back and forth with pseudo aspersions at each other’s nationalities for a long, long time. The quips and the humor are sometimes devastatingly funny, and my life would be much poorer without them. He’s the one who concocts the novelty photos and fires them at me… |
