| Post subject: | Favorite Guilty Pleasure Movies |
I thought it might be fun to list some of our favorite movies that would fall in the guilty pleasure category. These are the films many people would probably dismiss as not worth watching but seem to hold a special place for some of us. Here are some of mine. Hawk the Slayer: A Sword and Sorcery flick with the actor who now plays Christian Shepard on LOST as the magic sword yielding hero. He has an elf that can shoot arrows at the rate of a submachine gun, a wise-cracking dwarf with a bullwip, a blind lady mage who shoots paralyzing silly-string from her staff, a one-armed crossbow shooting man who has a talent for getting captured, and a giant who stands somewhere around 6 feet tall. Also, Jack Palance chews up lots of scenery as the manical villian. Great stuff! Conan The Destroyer: At least their giant actually looked tall enough to be intimidating. Any movie with Wilt Chamberlin and Arnold is worth a shot. Also the monster at the end of the film is sort of Lovecraftian. The Legend of Hell House: Say what you will about a large ghost syphoning machine designed to clear a super-haunted house of ghosts, this is perhaps the best haunted house movies ever filmed. I love all three of these films no matter how much they tend to get panned. That may explain why I have no use for The Oscars. It's rare for me to like a movie they do. |

The first Heavy Metal movie. For some reason I can watch that over and over again. The music is great, the animation is odd but easy on the eyes, the scripts are funny, and the cartoon babes are sexy. |
