I won the Cemetary Dance/Shocklines drawing for PoH#27 (they didn't mis-pronounce my name TOO badly
)and am looking for some new authors to try out with my Shocklines gift certificate.
Via PoH I was introduced to and enjoyed Berserk by Tim Lebbon and The Red Church by Scott Nicholson and that got me to wondering who else I was missing out on. I prefer supernatural horror, but am somewhat burnt out by the traditional protagonists (Zombies, Vampires, Ghosts, Psycho Killers, etc).
Here's a small list of authors I like:
HP Lovecraft (everything but the Dreamlands stuff)
Stephen King (not so much these days)
Dean Koontz (especially Fear Nothing and Seize the Night)
F. Paul Wilson (Repairman Jack rules!)
Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child (particularly the Pendergast books)
Any suggestions are greatly received and appreciated.
