Jordan Krall at Dynatox is putting out my short novel about "Conspiracy and cosmic dread in the Amazon forest..." The Seed of Wonder, the Seed of Faith. It's about a pact made by a secret tribe assembled from the indigenous survivors of extinct tribes with a mysterious power deep in the Amazon forest to re-shape the world, with the promise of a safe home for themselves. Here's a try at back-cover copy: Lucas didn’t trust these modern Conquistadores searching for the only treasure left to steal from the forest’s few remaining defenders. Lucas was afraid of what would happen, to him, his family and the tribe, if these new Conquistadores discovered the tribe’s treasure – the curse, now their weapon of vengeance and promise of freedom. But worse was the terror he felt retracing the steps of the pilgrimage he’d made as a child to the sacred place, where he’d failed his initiation into the heart of the tribe’s bargain. He’d kept his faith, served his tribe in the many other ways it needed, when he didn’t live in his failure’s darkness. He’d kept his faith in the bargain, in the power it gave to the tribe, in the promise of a new place of their own after the world ended one day, one day soon, and all the Conquistadores were swept from every land.
