I had talked to Laurel and Tony about randomly pairing writers up and having one writer write the first half of a story and the second writer doing the second half. Each with no communication beyond the first writer emailing the first half of the story to the second writer. Just throwing it out there. Trying to see if we can make things more interesting. |

I'd like to see more comments period. We're getting some people reading the things, and it's one of the reasons I'm doing this. It's really not a lot of fun if the same people comment everytime, though I'm happy to read them. It helps make us all better. No one's feelings will get hurt. Except maybe Dude's, but he'll just pout a bit and then show a picture of his wiener. |

I think it would be kinda neat if we all came up with about 3 or 4 subjects and we picked from the one everyone liked best,,,, DO like,,,,you have to have the subjects by "X" date and vote by "Y" date |

I liked all these stories. Is this story thing something that's still going on or is it a thing of the past? I haven't been to this forum in ages but I plan to stick around this time. Anyway, a rundown: Untitled (?) This one had some good atmosphere going for it but I would have liked to read a more fleshed-out version. But hey, I'm not generally a fan of ambiguity. I think this story has some wonderful description of mental deterioration, which is always a good thing (in fiction, that is). The final sentence was awesome.The Weight Well-written but need more! Heh... I'd particularly like to know what happens between these two excerpts. I sense there was an odd relationship between Rose and her husband and I wanna know who this mytery dude is... Moving Day I do not particularly like zombie stories anymore but this was great. Very fitting title and the end scene had me grinning ear to ear. It's always nice to read something that's actually refreshing about zombies or vampires or other such things. It's Time To Move Clyde Again I really enjoyed the surreal nature of this. The bouncing back and forth between settings worked well and wasn't jarring, as it easily could have been. There's some wild imagery here that drew me right in. The Lake I think this is my favorite of the bunch, due in no small part to the WTF factor at the end of part 1. Nicely placed gore, creepy pumpkin-headed things and a narrow escape to a gingerbread house? Frickin' sweet. I'm not sure how the 2 parts are connected, though maybe we're not supposed to be sure at this point. Moving Day at the Universal Studios Horror Lot Flat-out hilarious. The similes seemed a bit too abundant but they made me laugh, and the dialogue was great. The ending threw me for a loop in a good way. |
