Hey, all, I hope I've found the right place to post a bit of news... theDF_underground: the dark fiction portal has officially opened the doors as of today and welcomes submissions of fiction and nonfiction by horror and dark fiction writers from all walks of life. Submission guidelines are here: http://www.df-underground.com/submissio ... ound_subm/ Following are a few of the details: Fiction We adhere to a pretty loose definition of horror around here. If it horrifies, it is horror. If it is dark and disturbed, we want it. Give us clever plays on traditional horror stories that do something old in a new way. Send us cross-genre tales that didn't make the cut elsewhere because they strayed from convenient publishing labels. Give us the edgy stuff that doesn't fit the mold. Call it horror, dark fiction, sci-fi, fantasy, some kind of sick romance... If it cuts us to the soul and makes us feel all dark and twisty inside, we want to see it. We take each piece on a case-by-case basis, so try us. Nonfiction theDF_underground accepts a wide variety of nonfiction content related to dark fiction as a craft and as a profession. Articles, interviews, book/film reviews, genre analyses, how-to features, author profiles, personal-experience essays, event coverage, writing tips, marketing/sales advice, commentary and perspectives on the genre... you get the picture. Be creative. Surprise us. Give us something we haven't seen already. Show us that there are people out there who still take this stuff as seriously as we do. Payment theDF_underground is a low-paying market for now, for one simple reason: we're new. We pay $5 up to 1,000 words, $10 for 1,000-5,000 words, and $15 for 5,000+ words. These payment terms apply to all content submitted to theDF_underground, to include short stories, articles, reviews, interviews, and anything else you'd like to throw at us. |
