This is my first post, Ed. Two years ago I picked up Flesh Gothic from the Chicago Public Library and drank it down in one night like a profound bottle of Knob Creek. I loved it. Made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. And, frankly, it reignited my passion for horror literature. Since then I've bought and read and enjoyed the living hell out of Monstrosity, Backwoods, Slither, City Infernal, House Infernal, Infernal Angel, Messenger, Brides of the Impaler, Operator B, Goon, Creekers, Bighead, and, most recently, Gast! And there's still so much more to read you prolific son of a gun! Oh yeah! I also read In the Year of Our Lord: 2202...in Triage. That story rocked the shat out the devil's bunghole. Yes, sir. The Lovecraftian ending was a serious mental nipple tweek for me. Loved it. I ask you Ed Lee fans: where else you gonna get horror fiction like this? Well, Ed. I just wanted to chime in and let you know I'm digging your work and that I look forward to reading the rest of your stuff and what's yet to come. Part of the fun of being an Ed Lee fan I've quickly learned is in tracking all these books down. I'm trying to find Stickmen but not having much luck. Any of you Edheads got any leads?

As far as where to find stuff "like" Ed Lee...well, he is truly in a class by himself, but having said THAT, try out these authors if you dig Lee:

1) Richard Laymon
2) Jack Ketchum
3) Brian Keene
4) Bentley Little
5) Bryan Smith
6) J.F. Gonzalez (his novel, Survivor, was easily the sickest thing I'd ever read)

I just finished re-reading HIS PAIN by Wrath James White. Quite a disgusting novella that mess is. High 5. High 5.
But Ed's the man. No doubt.
But if your wallet is fat and you are in sore need of total disgust there is a one of a kind classic called COWS by Matthew Stokoe.
To my mind the three most wrenching reads that exist are COWS, Ed Lee's SPLATTERSPUNK and his short story THE DRITIPHILIST in the Necro chapbook PARTNERS IN CHYME.

Harleymack: man, thanks much for the wonderful words. Readers like you make it all worthwhile! I hope you dig my next book, too--GOLEM, which I think comes out in paperback this June. (Now that I think of it, I believe I had a chanracter named Harley Mack in one of my bygone tales. Damn, you know you're getting old when you can't remember your own characters!)
