I just finished up Goon a couple hours ago. Another great hick story. I swear, we've had 3 buildings turned into amateur wrestling arenas in our downtown area. It's like reading about what you really suspect is going "behind the scenes" in rural small town America. I wasn't aware Memphis-area wrestling had any impact besides the Andy Kauffman spat but I recognized a couple of concealed figures in Goon.

Goon was fantastic, as I expected it would be within the first few pages. That scene where Straker "parties down" with Ghoula, holy shit. If my girlfriend had only read what I was reading while laughing my ass off out loud. I'd love to know her reaction to me as a human.

Just started The Pig, and damn, you know that when the first page ends in "Even the pig was appalled.", you're in for an excellent ride.

Of the Lee material I've read so far, the Pig is my favorite. I just recently went back and read the second portion, the House. It wasn't as , but a great continuation of the myth the Pig created.

I am very pleased to see that you got the chance to proof read the script and provide your input. That increases my faith in the fact that it will do the book justice! Not to mention more hardcore small-press. These are good things to read on a Monday morning!

Finished The Pig, wow! I think that was my favorite Lee read since The Bighead. Man, some of those scenes, I have no words... What a crazy ride!

Also read Mr. Torso and Mrs. Torso, both were fantastic. Mowed through Jack Ketchum's Weed Species one night as well. Man, I wish I'd known about you guys a lot sooner Mr. Lee. It's really cool that you correspond with your fans on here as well. You don't see too many people reaching out to their audience this days, and I think that's great.

Gonna leap into The House now, and after that it's looking like Ever Nat, and Triage, which I'm really excited for being that I'm a huge fan of Ketchum and Laymon as well.

I'd love to read Ever Nat but I can not seem to get ahold of it. The times it's come up on eBAY, I always get outbid. But if anyone knows of a place I could buy it, I'd be thrilled to know.

Ever Nat would be a prime candidate for a reissue - maybe in conjunction with another hard to find novella. Maybe?

Ay, yes that would be nice. I'd also like to see Ghouls, The Chosen, and Sacrifice all get the reissue treatment. A nice hardback of each would really hit the spot. And while I'm wishing away...I'd LOVE to have a big collection of all of Ed's short stories. Along the lines of The Ushers but BIGGER! That would be nice too.

I finally managed to track down the three original paperbacks that have yet to be re-issued. I've read the Chosen so far. It had some pretty rough sequences for a mass market as Lee had already been attested about the Coven, Incubi, and Succubi releases. I was surprised at how long Ghouls was, I usually flip to the back of his old books and check out the ads for other books from the same publisher - nostalgia - and lo, it was the longest Lee book I've come across aside from maybe GAST.

I can guarantee you all that Ghouls, Chosen, and Sacrifice will be reissued down the road. Ghouls, I'm pretty sure, was about 100,000 words, while House Infernal was 110,000 and Gast was 115,000--my longest book. But, lo, there's a reason why Ghouls SEEMED overly long: it was overwritten! I may discipline the reprint. As for Ever Nat being a reprint, yes, there will one day be a whopper of an Ed Lee collection with all my hardcore shorts in it. Thanks, all, for your interest!
