Hi, friends: just wanted to remind you that on this day in 1890, HP Lovecraft was born! I will celebrate accordingly by watching Call of Cthulhu and rereading The Rats in the Walls, oh, and drinking beer. Evidently today the Wall Street Journal ran an article about HPL's birthday. How cool! Right now, I've started a new novella that I hope will be supreme grossout. I've gotten rusty on that in recent years! My goal is to make myself sick. Also started a new movie which will be a 20-minute short and a tribute to Salvador Dali and Luis Bunuel. Dali loved to paint naked women, well, I love to film them! Also, recently saw some movies on Amazon that struck me as cool: Blackwater Vampire (starts out real slow like Blair Witch but then the last 15 minutes are outstanding); Muirhouse (not much to it, just a novelist running around in a creepy house with a video camera and a nebulous ending but somehow potently effective); Aaron's House (not very good conceptually but fascinating in the way it's style oversteps the low budget), and Back From Hell (pregnant chick and her asshole friends spend the night in an ancient abbey--ruined my night's sleep and generated AWFUL nightmares!)
Tonight I hope you all revere the Master a tad and reread a great HPL story!
Lee! I know you are a huge HPL fan, so I celebrate with you! How awesome that you are dedicating his Bday! Sounds like you are having a blast over there, and writing and filming, and watching horror flicks, and I admire you to the max!
