JUST A NOTE
Hi, folks, sorry it's been so long, as usual, but I can tell you I've been working my old ass off. Each day I work on Header 3, then write one page of a new novella and one page of a short story, plus the movie editing. All goes well. More than halfway done with Header 3. I think I'll celebrate that mark with a Chinese beer or two (who am I kidding? Six.) I recently got my hc of Lucifer's Lottery and I must say it looks great and I couldn't be happier with the Erik Wilson cover art. Also, there's this fantastic British mag called Beware the Dark that just came out, and it's the Tom Piccirilli Special Issue; it includes severl pieces by Tom, tributes by Ketchum, Partridge, Gerard Houarner, me and others; columns by Ray Garton, Ramsey Campbell etc. Check it out if you can. It's a very high production mag and also has tons of great art work. One the movie front, I'm mainly editing now but every now and then still do a shoot; got some great stuff lately. I recently rewatched reelsplatter's The Stall, which is a fantastic short, and the dvd has a bunch of great special features. And tonight I will watch August Underground, which I've never seen but everyone tells me I MUST. I hope I can hack it!
Best wishes and thanks to all of you!
Edward Lee

Happy Birthday Ed.
57? I feel like I'm catching up with you now.
Great news about Lucifer's Lottery, I have no idea why it was delayed so long by CD, but now I know it's coming I no longer care as long as I get it, all is good in the world again.

Unless you just jumped in and bought the last copy it's showing as sold out to me, but Bad Moon Books has it up for $35, I would offer you one of mine but with shipping and all that Jazz it would probably best for you to look to your own shores.
Thanks Jizz, but my own shores be Canada... I don't live in Australia, I'm just going to school here. I'll buy one of yours any day of the week (except this week, cuz I'm in the midst of trying to get out of this country) but like I said, your my one of my go too's for books, man. Shippings pretty much the same for books coming from the US. Naturally I like to save a buck here and there, but when it comes down to getting something I need, I usually do what I have too. I doubt anyone here even deals in these books. Aside from two really cool DVD collectors I met, the horror scene is pretty much non-existent. And there's no way I could ever live somewhere like that.

Well feel free to stop by whenever they come in stock and I'll hook you up. I'm no rasict, Canada, Australia, America, it's all the same to me shit half of you even look the same to me. Oh wait that is a little rascist ain't it?
But that's one thing I've noticed about Australia, some of the run of the mill paperbacks that I send over there you'd think they don't have any bookshops at all. Not sure how it all works over there but when folks are sending me more in postage than the cost of the paperback books something ain't right. Every time I send something over there I feel a bit like I'm sending aid. Shit if I ever win the lottery I think I'll head over there, take my books buy a big plot of lands for an animal sanctuary and sell hardcore horror in a little wooden gift shack out front. A bit like wolf creek, but instead of raping you and killing you I'd hook folks up with some good books instead.
Yeah really. The book stores out here are lacking big time. They have your typical big authors, but even there they're pretty piss poor. I was looking for a Robert McCammon book a few months ago and the one big franchise that Australia has, Dymocks, didn't even have him in their system. That's bad, given that they are almost Aus's sole provider of books, aside from the odd used and mom and pop store. Strangely though they had the entire Poppy z Brite bibliography, which served me little, given that I've already read Exquisite Corpse. As for the rest, if i want homoerotic, I'll reread Ever Nat and High Life... Not much into it otherwise.
They cater a lot to Aus authors, which is strange because Matthew Stokoe lives right in Sydney, and his books are printed in the building right beside the bus stop I get off at when I get into the city, and is also a block away from Dymocks, but none of them carry his books. NONE. What the hell is that? I guess it's just cuz it's one of those mega conglomerate chains, catering to people who skim the surface of horror, but never dive into the deep end. I dive in, like that fat kid who falls on his head on the dive board, I dive. I suspect that the underground book scene here is fairly small, just like their overall horror scene. There's a Hellraiser cenobite reunion show they're trying to put together in Melbourne, but aside from that, there hasn't been anything horror in the last 15 months I've been living here. At least not that I know of. Though I did score a sweet copy of Scrapbook and Cannibal Holocaust off a fellow horror fanatic out here, but he's the exception.
And yes, shipping is rid-iculous. A fifteen dollar hardback of His Pain costed me thirty five in shipping. That's when I started putting my books on layaway. (Though is didn't complain about that $40.00 lettered Succulent Prey, which I have proudly displayed on my mantle)
Open that store Jizz, but do it in Canada. We have a massive redneck culture in the Rockies... Weel decorate the store with dead hippies.
Cuz were not hippies, were slippies, like the Manson family.

Shit Lee, I'm SUPER late to this, but happy birthday! I'm also very pleased to see you are enjoying the dvd of The Stall! I'm one of the subjects for an upcoming documentary called The Brilliant Terror, which is about indie grassroots horror filmmaking and they filmed the entire 2 years of production on The Stall so when it comes out you'll get to see ALL of the crazy bullshit we dealt with during that hellish shoot!
Very excited to see more of your movie stuff! If you need any more tips or fx, I'm here!
