| Post subject: | Halloween |
So, what do the people on the board here do for Halloween? Do you give out candy? Go to haunted houses? Costume Parties? Any certain movies you like to watch this time of year? My life revolves around horror year round, from what I read, to what I listen to, to what I watch. However, I do feel the need to watch Halloween this time of year. I also used to look forward to the Saw movies for Halloween, but the series is done, and there haven't really been any good horror movies in the theaters to go see. |

Try saint from Dick Maas. Hilarious, about a murderous Saint in Amsterdam. Movie from a dutch filmmaker. believe it has been released in the uk and usa. |

It varies for me from year to year, but my fiancee is throwing a costume party at our place this year. Prepping for it sucks, but anything that involves me being able to drink and attractive women scampering about in suggestive outfits is a good thing in my book. |

Nice, Demonizer...its a tough job but someone has to do it, right? I'll be decorating the front of the house Monday and then we'll take the kids out trick-or-treating Halloween night. Our neighborhood has a few houses that really do a cool job getting into Halloween, especially our next-door neighbor...and one of these years I plan on outdoing him!

naturally, Halloween is my favorite day of the year. I have stuff all over the house: rotten heads, blinking mansions, dollar store ghouls hanging here and there, etc. And for some reason I went apeshit at a bunch of these halloween and party stores and bought a bunch of skulls and whacked out masks and severed limbs. Why? I'm not sure! One of these days I'll learn how to post pictures on the message board and show em to you. Some of these macks and heads, in dim light, look pretty damn realistic! In the past I would make a tradition of watching two of my very favorite flicks on Halloween: Paul NAschy's Horror Rises From The Tomb; and Horror Hotel w/Christopher Lee but I can't watch those this year cuz they're in storage. I'll probably walk around the neighborhood at night and look at all the decorations, then watch whatever flicks are on Chiller Channel. During the day, though, I'm sure I'll go to several malls because people tend to were costumes, and I love that Halloween spirit! I hope you all have a good one! Edward Lee |

We had trick or treating in our town on Saturday. All of the other towns were having it on Halloween, but because of Sandy, it was moved to the following Saturday, Nov. 3rd. Halloween is also my wedding anniversary. I'm hoping the roads will be clear by then and things will be open to go out and celebrate. The wind outside sounds like a jet. It's pretty wild. No power outages so far, but there have been power outages in the surrounding areas. Everything is closed, and what is open has bare shelves. Gas stations are out of gas, it's unreal. I've never seen anything like this. I live in central Pa., and have another day to go with this. Happy Halloween everyone. |

Be safe out there, lthrby1! I remember the 2004 hurricanes we got in Florida, three in as many months from August through October (Charlie being the worst), and we ran into the same thing, gas stations out of gas, etc, but nothing compared to what hit such a densely populated area like NYC and surrounding areas/states...my heart goes out to those folks...damn. |

Happy Halloween, everybody. My favorite day of the year is now 17 minutes old. I just got done rewatching Paranormal Act. 3 and am now too afraid to go to friggin bed. In Walmart I found these cool pumpkin and goblin balloons that have LED lights inside and I've got em bobbing all over the place. And right now I'm watching Halloween Night by Mark Polonia (it's not very good but still tons of fun!) Everybody have a fun All Hallows Eve (and a safe one!) Ghoulishly, Edward Lee |

Happy Halloween Everyone!!!!!!!!!!!! What do I do on Halloween? I write two very short stories for Halloween, one for the kids and pass them out folded with candy and another for the adults at parties. Fun is had by all also good for promotion -Chuck Rios |

My Halloween was laid back and great (and I suppose it's the first Halloween in my adulthood where I didn't drink!) And, Chuck, can't remember if I told you this but I was really digging your chapbook but misplaced it before I could finish! I'm pretty sure I left it at my mother's house in MD. I'm going there tomorrow so I'll definitely hunt for it. Damn. The only thing I hate about Halloween is that it ends too quickly. Take care, all! Edward Lee |

Thank you, Lee! I am glad you are enjoying Disembodied Secrets. Your comment means a lot to me and it is encouraging to say the least. The end of that story is killer, so I do hope you find it soon. I have a funny story about that chapbook. The printer thought it would be a great idea if he took a crack at being an editor. He (who shall remain nameless because it was already resolved) took it upon himself to butcher the story, printed them out and delivered them to me. By the time I found out about the mistakes, it was too late. But on the bright side I am very grateful that you and others like it for the story itself and not the unintended grammatical mistakes. John Palisano said that they were now "collector items", ha! As for Halloween, the children loved the story and candy and the adults were much too inebriated to even read, so to make a long story short, my Halloween was nice. Next year will be better, bigger and gnarly. Question - Lee, will you have a Kick Start page to fund your film? I would love to get in on that. -Chuck Rios |
